Our economy is headed toward disaster. The factors that go into the looming collapse of the dollar are widespread, from the sub-prime mortgage meltdown, to the continued borrowing of money from China, to the off-shoring of our manufacturing jobs, to the waves of illegal aliens. All of these factors and more lead us to contemplate the coming economic downturn with a feeling of unease. Yet there is hope. The solutions are not easy, but they are thankfully simple.
I promise that I will fight to lower taxes. As any family knows, the money coming into the family budget must be at least equal to the money going out. Congress has not produced a balanced budget and has chose not to cut spending. Instead our representatives have run up the national debt while simultaneously printing money. The Federal Reserve, in concert with Congress, can create dollars without any tangible backing which causes inflation. As each new dollar is printed without any backing, all the other dollars are worth less. Rising prices (often misnamed inflation) merely reflect the fact that our dollars are worth less than they were a short while ago.
