A native Washingtonian, Michael Delavar was born and raised in Bremerton. His father worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for the Department of Defense. After spending nearly a decade moving around the country and flying for different small charter outfits, Michael moved back to Washington in 2000 when he was hired by Horizon Airlines. That year he also met and married his wife, Katja. In 2002, they were drawn to Washougal because of its natural beauty and small town feel. Now blessed with two boys, Katja and Michael attend Gateway Community Church. They are glad they have adopted Washougal as their home and look forward to preserving its unique character. On June 1st, 2009, Michael was appointed to Washougal City Council Position 4. In November of 2009, he received nearly 80% of the vote to retain his seat. He is honored to serve the community and asks for your vote in 2011 to keep him in this position. |
